At Te Rūnanga o Ngā Maata Waka, we deliver community-based music therapy and creative wellbeing programs that integrate tikanga Māori to support the holistic wellbeing of whaiora (clients).

Recognising the powerful connection between music and mental health, we create safe, inclusive spaces where whaiora can explore self-expression, emotional healing, and personal growth through music. Through playing instruments, writing lyrics, and engaging in music production, whaiora are supported in processing emotions, building resilience, and developing healthy coping strategies.

Our dedicated music space is equipped with a wide range of instruments and recording tools, enabling whaiora to connect with themselves and others in meaningful ways. Each program is designed to foster emotional strength, social connection, and a strong sense of cultural identity, empowering whaiora on their journey toward positive change and community integration.
